AAPL passes all-time high of $427 a share, market cap closes in on $400B

January 9, 2012 by Iwinyourmoney
An interesting thing has happened this morning. In a run up to Apple?s Q1 2012 earnings call and amid a steady flow of CES 2012 announcements, where Apple traditionally does not exhibit, the company?s share has reached an all-time high, passing $427 a share for a market valuation of $398 billion (Exxon Mobile is at $408.86 billion). As noted by Fortune?s Philip Elmer-DeWitt, the company actually passed the $426.70 mark it hit briefly one day in mid-October
Interestingly, several analysts have boosted their iPhone estimates for the December quarter. Most notably, Goldman upped their iPhone estimate to 31 million quarterly units, up from the previous 30.2 million estimate. Needham significantly increased their previous 28 million units projection to 32 million units.

In new book, Shaq explains how his relationship with Kobe went sour

If you've followed basketball for any amount of time over the past decade, you are probably well aware that Shaquille O'Neal(notes) and Kobe Bryant(notes) don't get along with each other particularly well. Even before Shaq was traded to the Heat in 2004, it was common knowledge that their relationship had become untenable. Since then, there have been profane freestyle raps, barely veiled insults, and plenty of other incidents. It's the feud that won't die. The NBA even promoted it as its top rivalry for years after Shaq had lost his status as one of... More...

Costa Rica blackjack.....I figured it out...(I think)*Sharps??

Using this thing I figured out.......I used Mug as test dummy and he won $1,000 at the Del Ray in 30 minutes.
In costa rica....the dealer gets 1 up card DOES NOT draw his "down card" until all action at the table is done.

Here's what I figured out.....

Dealer shows a "10"

You have a 15....you STAY. Why? Because if you draw a 7 or higher you bust. WHATS IT MATTER? Let the dealer try and bust. Because even if you get the cards 2,3,4,5,6.....then the dealer has to redraw and has a great chance of busting.

The ONLY time you hit (when your... More...

Apple LTE-enabled iPhone Due in 2012, iPhone 4S Preparations for September 2011

May 18, 2011 by Iwinyourmoney
Though not a particular surprise, Digitime's sources claim that the LTE-enabled "iPhone 4S" is unlikely to launch until 2012.

Apple is likely to delay the launch of its LTE-enabled iPhones to 2012, said the sources, noting that the industry had also long been skeptical about the launch of LTE iPhones in 2011 as the implementation of LTE networks has not yet matured.
LTE is the next generation data transfer technology beyond 3G and is frequently labeled 4G. Both AT&T and Verizon are supporting LTE as their next generation data protocol.

Digitimes' report confusingly refers to the 2012 iPhone as the "4S"... More...

Recommandation for SBR Costa Rica reigiseration

February 26, 2011 by Iwinyourmoney
With this coming up soon, I would like to put up some ideas to make sure when people registering get a fair shot at reimbursement/sbr doesnt get stiffed on hotel rooms.

1. Day 1 of registration, SBR pros get a 12 hours window before all non-pros. Im sure SBR is already considering this as pro status gets many great perks already.

2. 1st round of verification. Registered poster must email SBR with either
A) Picture of actual passport w/ your poster name in the picture (ok to cover up personal info)
B) Picture... More...

Great Read: What happened to all the nice guys???

June 18, 2010 by Iwinyourmoney
I see this question posted with some regularity in the personals section, so I thought I'd take a minute to explain things to the ladies out there that haven't figured it out.

What happened to all the nice guys?

The answer is simple: you did.

See, if you think back, really hard, you might vaguely remember a Platonic guy pal who always seemed to want to spend time with you. He'd tag along with you when you went shopping, stop by your place for a movie when you were lonely but didn't feel like going out, or even sit there... More...

Two games on the Celtics bench cost Nate Robinson a million bucks

May 8, 2010 by Iwinyourmoney
NBA contract incentives are far more complicated and secretive than we mere mortals could ever hope to comprehend. For instance, did you know that if Sam Perkins had scored 50 points in a single game, the Seattle SuperSonics had agreed to pay for his hair to be braided for a 10-year period? That's probably not true, but that's the thing about NBA incentives — they're kept under wraps and often times arcane in their nature.

However, every once in a while, a contract incentive is revealed and we all realize how crazy it is to be a professional athlete. The most... More...
